Our Sustainable Source of Rosehip Oil
Our Rosehip Oil is sustainably sourced from the extreme south of Chile, in the Patagonia Austral. Rosehip seeds are handpicked by smallholder farmers and their families; they control and own the land they work on. The process of growing and extracting Rosehip Oil is Fair For Life certified by Ecocert, ensuring safe and equitable working conditions for all the farmers involved. Our supplier that manages these growers and farmers also work with the Chilean government and local organisations to create a positive social impact to support the local community.
The final product produced contains higher levels of nutrients than from Rosehip Oil sourced anywhere else in the world.
The extraction process
Rosehips are the fruit of a plant, with the oil extracted from the seeds. The process to grow and extract this oil is 100% organic, certified by Ecocert.
The oil is cold-pressed – this means that the method of extraction uses a hydraulic press, creating mass pressure. Unlike other extraction techniques, no heat or oxygen is used during this process, which means no nutrients are lost during extraction.
We make the decision to add Acai Berry Oil and Vitamin E for an extra boost of antioxidants.
Benefits of Rosehip Oil
Rosehip is a stable dry oil that leaves no greasy residue. This, along with the multitude of amazing benefits, makes it the ideal oil for all skin types.
The natural content of trans-retinoid acid in Rosehip Oil is a precursor to Vitamin A (only without the irritating side effects) to help increase skin cell turnover and fight DNA-damaging free radicals.
Rosehip Oil is a natural inflammatory antioxidant that is rich in Vitamins C and E as well as Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids to help with skin elasticity – hello soft and supple skin!
