I've always had acne and skin sensitivity issues and after trying nearly everything on the market I couldn't believe my luck to find something so calming on my skin that was found at the supermarket. Whilst being calming it's still strong enough to take off my waterproof mascara. Definitely reccomend.
Honestly, I am a big fan of the Essano brand, their commitment to being cruelty free and am a longtime user of their micellar water cleanser for removing stubborn makeup, so I saw this cleanser on sale and thought I'd give it a try! Unfortunately, it didn't live up to its description and I'm quite disappointed in its performance.
My skin type is combination, with sensitivity and breakouts to be my main concerns. After using this cleanser a few times, each time my face was left feeling quite dry, tight and uncomfortable. Not only this, but the formula itself was very thick and i couldn't get it to foam up whatsoever in my palms as described. I found to properly cleanse my face I was rubbing quite harshly due to the formula being so concentrated. Not a big fan of the synthetic fragrance either if I'm honest.
I wanted to love this product and gave it a chance, but I'm not looking to be repurchasing this in the future :/
Hi Nicole - thanks for your feedback! It sounds like you may not have the right cleanser for your skin or that it's an older batch if it's not foaming up or is too thick to cleanse smoothly. We'll reach out to you via email to resolve this.

Love it! Found it in Rite Aid, which was very convenient. I wanted something gentle and fragrance free, that isn’t tested on little bunny rabbits. Out of all the vegan/natural cleansers I considered, it was the only one that didn’t have that weird citrus scent, and from what I can see on the ingredient list, contains no or very little citrus oils. It does say fruit oils down at the bottom of the list, but I detect no citrus. (Potentially irritating citrus oils should NOT be a major ingredient in skin care products for the face) While it does have a very, very faint fragrance, it doesn’t irritate my skin, and it’s very luxurious to use. It feels like an expensive product!
I use an olive oil based cleansing oil at night to remove makeup, then follow with this. A pump the size of a small pea is all you need. Has a creamy, very slightly foamy texture, removes all the cleansing oil without having to scrub, and rinses easily, leaving your skin feeling very nice, clean but not stripped.
Will definitely be repurchasing and trying other products from the line.
Switched a few years back when Avon left NZ... just love the stuff!
This is a foaming cleanser so although it may seem thick to others, if you put water on your face and hands and then rub together it will foam up and then give you the best results and shouldn't be too thick. This face wash is the best I've used and when I stopped using it along with the Essano moisturizer my skin started to break out so I had to go back to using this product again haha, so I highly recommend it. It lasts you a very long time is the size is on par with other brands as well.
